The Role of Client Development Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining a strong pipeline for prospective clients. This includes creating and managing a prospect database
  • Be responsible for handling new business enquiries
  • Building good relationships with agency partners. Be active and authoritative on Social Media platforms, particularly LinkedIn
  • Improve and develop processes to engage with new prospective clients and partners
  • Be the main day to day contact for clients and ensure they are kept up to date with progress
  • Maintain and develop client relationships
  • Understand the client’s goals and objectives and effectively communicate them to our internal team
  • Hold regular progress and update meetings with clients and feedback relevant information to the appropriate team members
  • Assist with organising and participating in client presentations and pitches when required
  • Drive Zelst brand values to all contacts and work closely with the team internally to ensure delivery of our brand promise
  • Through continual innovation and superior customer service delivery, ensure that our high standards of customer service are delivered to improve client experience and aid in client retention
  • Prepare targeted, well-researched, innovative and relevant proposals when required
  • To be responsible for our competitor analysis and identifying areas of interest or concern for Zelst, including offering solutions and new ideas to keep us ‘Fresh’ in the Search Marketing Sector
  • Develop a knowledge of the benefits of Search Marketing and keep up to date with the latest industry developments and news
  • Produce required reports in a timely and accurate fashion

Key Skills, Experience and Attributes

  • To ideally have a sound understanding of agency environment and be comfortable with technology and social media channels
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent rapport building skills
  • Ability to explain complex information clearly and simply
  • Highly organised with ability to multi task and prioritise.
  • Sound commercial understanding and mindset
  • Good understanding of written and spoken English
  • Ability to deliver a high level of customer service
  • Good level of Microsoft skills (Outlook, Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Competent with Google Docs
  • Excellent level of attention to detail
  • Be forward thinking and solutions oriented
  • Be proactive with a ‘can do’ approach to work and ability to use initiative
  • Eagerness to learn, develop and progress within the role and the agency
  • Have the curiosity to explore new approaches to challenges
  • Solid negotiation skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Creativity
  • Previous business development experience working in a digital agency is preferable
